After the success of the 2024 series, New South Wales and Queensland will again do battle over three matches.
Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Thursday opener ahead of the NRL's Magic Round.

NSW Sky Blues team news
New NSW Blues Women’s coach John Strange has named four debutants in a 20-player squad for Game One of the 2025 State of Origin series.
Making their Origin debuts are Abbi Church (Parramatta Eels), Jayme Fressard (Sydney Roosters), Ellie Johnston (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks), and Jocelyn Kelleher (Sydney Roosters).
Four more players return to the Origin stage after previous campaigns: Kennedy Cherrington (Parramatta Eels), Shaylee Bent (Gold Coast Titans), and Jesse Southwell (Newcastle Knights) last featured in 2023, while Kirra Dibb (North Queensland Cowboys) was part of the 2022 winning side and named on the extended bench in 2024.
Isabelle Kelly (Sydney Roosters) will captain the team, with Tiana Penitani Gray (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks) serving as vice-captain.
The squad includes 11 players from last year’s Blues side that lost the series 2-1, along with nine Jillaroos who helped defeat England in Las Vegas earlier this year.

QLD Maroons team news
Jasmine Peters, Jada Ferguson, Rory Owen and Tavarna Papalii will be making their respective Origin debuts for Queensland in Game 1.
Plenty of established stars have also been named, including Golden Boot winner Tarryn Aiken, Tamika Upton, Shenae Ciesiolka and Julia Robinson.
Veteran halfback Ali Brigginshaw, meanwhile, has been selected at halfback.
The trio of Emma Manzelmann, Zahara Temara and Tazmin Rapana were all notably left out of the squad, while Shannon Mato and Evania Pelite are unavailable due to pregnancy.
