After an exciting three-game series last year, the new Women's State of Origin format was back in 2025.

Queensland and New South Wales battled across May, with the third game taking place a full month out from the start of the NRLW season.

This year's series started at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on May 1 with NSW drawing first blood. 

The Blues then made home-ground advantage count at Allianz Stadium in Sydney when they wrapped up the series.

The two sides then headed to Newcastle as John Strange's side were unable to secure a series whitewash, with the Maroons securing their sole victory of the year. 

Who won the Women’s State of Origin series last year?

Queensland retained the shield last year, claiming a 2-1 series victory.

Despite suffering a surprise loss in Brisbane, they kept the series alive with a one-point victory in Newcastle before outclassing their opponents in the decider in Townsville.
