Young star Lachlan Galvin has spoken about his move from Wests Tigers to Canterbury Bulldogs for the first time.
Talking to Channel Nine’s Danny Weidler, he expressed his excitement to join the competition leaders and work with coach Cameron Ciraldo.
“Meeting [Cameron] Ciraldo was great. He is such a cool customer, and we’ve had long talks about what I need to do.” said Galvin on Channel Nine.
The half informed the Tigers earlier this season, he wasn’t going to sign a new deal and go to the open market once it ended in 2026.

“Money wasn’t the main reason for me to play rugby league,” added the five-eighth, who is happy to start in either off the bench or reserve grade.
“This whole thing was my decision. I told [Issac] Moses that I wanted this, and I was confident in wanting this challenge,”
Friction between Galvin and coach Benji Marshall caused that timeline to be moved up to this season and the player eventually confirmed a deal to NRL leading Bulldogs until 2028.
Wests Tigers took a transfer fee of $165,000 for the move and aim to sign up some of their other young talent.
Galvin debuted in round two in 2024 and made 31 appearances for the Tigers and the club were keen to re-sign him.
The five-eighth was courted by several clubs including his junior club Parramatta Eels but decided to choose Belmore.
There has been some debate about how the transfer came out with Gus Gould being outspoken in his opinion that Galvin had to leave the joint venture.
