Queensland have named a new State of Origin captain after Daly Cherry-Evans was axed for Game 2.
Cameron Munster will take up the leadership position as the Maroons head to Perth for a must-win match.
Coach Billy Slater informed the playing group of the appointment after a training session at Twin Waters on Tuesday morning.
With 19 Origin appearances to date, Munster is one of the most experienced names in the current Queensland set-up.

The Storm star made his Queensland debut in 2017 before playing every possible game from 2018 to 2021.
He missed the entirety of last year's series through injury but returned as the team's starting five-eighth in the recent opener.
Munster, 30, has been Melbourne's NRL vice-captain since 2024.
He also enters Game 2 as the senior player in a new-look halves duo with Tom Dearden.
Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Patrick Carrigan and Munster's club teammate Harry Grant were all considered to be other potential candidates for the captaincy.
