Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is under an early injury cloud heading into State of Origin Game 2.

According to the Courier Mail, the Queensland prop is battling a sternum problem.

The Titans captain picked up the issue during Saturday night's heavy defeat to the Broncos.

Fa’asuamaleaui played 53 minutes at Suncorp Stadium and exited the field with seven minutes remaining.

Kieran Foran stood in for the 25-year-old at the post-match press conference.

Despite the injury concern, Fa’asuamaleaui is still likely to be selected by Maroons coach Billy Slater for the second match of the series.

It comes following reports that current Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans could be dropped.

Should DCE's axing be confirmed, Fa’asuamaleaui will be a candidate to lead his state.
