Queensland will attempt to reclaim the State of Origin shield this year after going down to New South Wales in the series decider on home soil in 2024.
The Maroons raced into a 1-0 lead against Michael Maguire's side with a thumping 38-10 victory in the opening clash. Yet the Blues responded in style at the MCG as they put their rivals to the sword 38-18.
The decider was hosted at Suncorp Stadium with Slater's troops, who had claimed the past two series, heavily backed.
However, NSW recorded a rare 14-4 win in enemy territory to complete a rousing comeback and take the shield back across the border.
