Australia's greatest sporting rivalry - State of Origin - has fired up again.
New South Wales took home the shield last year, but Queensland responded with an against-the-odds series victory in 2025 to reclaim bragging rights.

State of Origin all-time record
Though it has been a bitter rivalry since its inception, Queensland have enjoyed more success than their southern rivals – in large part thanks to their historic eight series wins in a row from 2006 to 2013.
Overall, the all-time State of Origin record is 72-61-2 in favour of Queensland after the final match of the 2025 series.
The Maroons also hold the total series lead, winning 25 of the 44 total. The Blues have claimed 17 series victories, with the remaining two ending in draws.

Before their 2024 success, New South Wales last hoisted the Origin trophy in 2021.
Queensland enjoyed back-to-back triumphs in 2022 and 2023 before lifting the shield in 2025 after claiming back-to-back wins in Perth and Sydney.
The Blues also won back-to-back in 2019 and 2018, and in 2014 to break Queensland's streak, although the Maroons have dominated the past two decades.
