State of Origin returns to Suncorp Stadium to kickstart the 2025 series.

The Blues will look to retain the shield after going to Brisbane and defeating the Maroons in the decider last year.

Laurie Daley finds himself as the New South Wales coach once again, eight years since he was moved on from the role.

Who are the referees for State of Origin 2025 Game 1?

Ashley Klein has been appointed as the referee for the match, with Chris Butler offering support as the senior review official.

The touch judges will be Dave Munro and Phil Henderson, with Munro returning after controlling the sidelines for all three games last year.

State of Origin schedule for 2025

Game 1 will take place on Wednesday, May 28, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The series then heads to Perth, with Game 2 slated for Optus Stadium on June 18.

Game 3 will return to Sydney for the first time since 2023, taking place on July 9.
