This year's State of Origin series has arrived, with New South Wales – led by Laurie Daley – aiming to go back-to-back against their arch-rivals.

Game 1 is set to take place at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.

Both Daley and Billy Slater have had plenty to think about in the lead-up to selection, with a host of the competition's biggest names sidelined through injury.

NSW Blues team news:

Laurie Daley has shown faith at fullback by sticking with Dylan Edwards, backing the incumbent to rise above inconsistent club form and make a statement on the Origin stage.

In the outside backs, Daley has largely followed the blueprint laid out by Michael Maguire in 2024, naming Brian To’o, Zac Lomax, and Stephen Crichton to start for New South Wales.

Latrell Mitchell starts at left centre after a dazzling stretch of form, capped off by a remarkable 50-metre match-winning field goal in the rain against the Broncos in Round 10.

The long-running debate around the Blues’ halves pairing has finally been settled. Mitchell Moses has been chosen ahead of Jarome Luai to partner Nathan Cleary in the halves for Game I at Suncorp Stadium.

In the forward pack, two changes have been made due to injury. Mitch Barnett and Isaah Yeo come into the starting side, replacing Jake Trbojevic and Cameron Murray.

Connor Watson retains his role as the utility off the bench, while Spencer Leniu and Hudson Young make their return to the interchange.

Max King will make his State of Origin debut after a stellar start to the season that has helped propel the Bulldogs to the top of the ladder.

Campbell Graham has been named as 18th man.
