Emerging Roosters forward Naufahu Whyte has signed a contract extension, tying him to the club until at least the end of 2029.
Whyte, 23, was already contracted through to the end of next season but the club has moved quickly to lock down the rapidly improving big man.
The Kiwi made his debut with the club back in 2021 but has emerged as a key member of the pack this season, stepping up following the departures of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Terrell May, starting every game, when fit, in the front-row.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson spoke about Whyte's influence on the team following the announcement of his new deal.
“Fahu is a competitor with a deep hunger to improve, and he has worked incredibly hard to earn his standing in our squad,” Robinson said.
“He’s a player you love coaching because he gives everything to the team, and he's also a genuinely good person, so it’s great to have him locked in as part of our long-term plans.”
Whyte has now made 46 first-grade appearances for the Tricolours, while also being capped three times by New Zealand.
Alongside Lindsay Collins, Whyte is part of a developing forward cohort at the club, which features, among others, Spencer Leniu, Blake Steep, Siua Wong, Salesi Foketi and Taylor Losalu.
“The Roosters have been my home since I moved over from Auckland as a teenager,” Whyte said
“It’s a blessing to be part of this club and an honour every time I pull on the jersey.
“I’m grateful that this is where I will continue to grow my game and I’m excited to keep learning from Trent, working hard alongside my brothers, and building something special together.”
Whyte and the Roosters currently sit in seventh place ahead of their round 17 bye.
