At just 22, Sualauvi Fa'alogo is already a Samoan international.
But according to Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy, the best is yet to come for the pint-sized outside back who was a relative latecomer to rugby league after starting his footballing journey in a different code.
Born in Samoa, Fa'alogo grew up in Melbourne, playing a couple of seasons of Aussie Rules before taking up league with the Northern Thunder.
Fa'alogo landed a development contract with the Melbourne Storm in 2021 and spent the bulk of the 2022 and 2023 seasons starring for the Storm’s feeder club in the Queensland Cup, Sunshine Coast Falcons.

Known for his electric speed and dazzling footwork, Fa'alogo made his NRL debut against the Broncos in the final round of 2023, scoring a try double as Melbourne rested several players in the lead-up to the finals series.
Since then, Fa'alogo has played 20 first-grade games for the Storm, including five in 2025, quickly becoming a fan favourite.
Storm’s next superstar fullback?
Whilst largely selected on the wing to date, Bellamy and the Storm brains trust consider Fa'alogo a long-term fullback option and are excited about his potential to join the likes of Billy Slater, Nicho Hynes and Ryan Papenhuyzen as star Storm custodians.
"He's only a small kid, but he's very talented, with his speed and his footwork," Bellamy said after Fa'alogo played a leading role in Saturday night's golden point win over the Rabbitohs in Sydney.
"He wouldn't be the most knowledgeable rugby league player in the game because he grew up playing AFL.
"I just think he's going to get better and better as time goes on when he learns more about the game and learns more about himself."
