The Dragons are set to unleash another of their rising stars this weekend.

Loko Pasifiki Tonga has been named on the bench in the No. 17 jersey for the Red V's clash with the Warriors.

Who is Loko Pasifiki Tonga?

Pasifiki Tonga has risen up the rugby league ranks at a rapid pace.

He was a starting prop in the Dragons' SG Ball Cup grand final team in 2024, guiding them to victory in the U19s competition. 

The teenager also stepped up to U21s level across 2023 and 2024, making 13 Jersey Flegg appearances.

Impressively, his NSW Cup debut came in 2023 as a 17-year-old, featuring in two matches that season for St George Illawarra.

He will now step up to first grade after catching the eye of coach Shane Flanagan.

Pasifiki Tonga will also become one of the biggest players in the NRL, standing at 196cm tall and weighing 121kg.

The Dragons re-signed the towering forward in January, extending his contract by two years.

"We're really excited to have locked Loko down for two more years," coach Flanagan said.

"He's big and mobile but he also does all the little things well.

"He's got a good attitude, he trains hard, and he's a very focused individual. 2025 will be a big year for him."

Loko Pasifiki Tonga position

Pasifiki Tonga is listed as a prop.

On Saturday, he will likely provide relief for starting front-rowers Toby Couchman and David Klemmer.
