Wests Tigers have looked to shore up the future of their playmaking stocks by signing rising five-eighth Javon Andrews from the Titans on a three-year deal, beginning next season.

The young Queenslander is considered one of the best emerging half prospects in the country, taking out the Player of the Match award in the Maroons' win in last month's U19s State of Origin fixture.

Andrews recently made his senior debut for Tweed Seagulls in the Queensland Cup, having captained the Gold Coast U20s side this season.

“I'm excited to be coming back to the Tigers,” said Andrews, who previously spent time in the club's pathway program.

“It's a great opportunity to learn from Benji, one of the best halves of the game, as well as from the wider team.

“I'm looking forward to embracing the club culture, developing my skills, and continuing to grow as a player.”

While still some way off first-grade football, Andrews will be given the opportunity to develop behind four-time premiership winner Jarome Luai.

Following the departure of Lachie Galvin to the Bulldogs, another young half in Latu Fainu has been given the opportunity to stamp his claim on the Tigers' number seven jumper.

With Fainu only 20 himself, the club could find themselves in a difficult situation in three years' time, depending on Andrews' progress.

Regardless, if it emerges as an issue, it will mean that both players are developing into reliable first-grade options - a good problem to have.
