Taylan May was spotted touring South Sydney Rabbioths' facilities according to Channel 9's Danny Weidler.
May, a versatile winger and centre, previously played 30 NRL games for the Penrith Panthers, scoring 17 tries before his career was paused due to an off-field incident.
With legal proceedings resolved and the NRL and ARLC clearing him to return, May is eligible to sign with a club immediately.
If May was to sign with the Rabbitohs, it would need to be before the June 30 contract deadline for the current season.

South Sydney, who have battled injury issues across their backline, could be an ideal landing spot for the Samoan international.
The club has struggled with the fitness of key players including Tyrone Munro, Alex Johnston, Campbell Graham, and Jack Wighton, creating a shortage of depth in the outside backs.
If the Rabbitohs do sign the outside back, he would most likely need to regain match fitness through the NSW Cup before playing in the NRL again.
Despite past comments expressing a desire to play alongside his brother Terrell May, the Rabbitohs appear to be the front-runners for his signature.
