Phins celebrate return of suspended NRL ‘Bad Boys’ image

The Dolphins have welcomed back two suspended stars for Round 25, proudly declaring them ‘Bad Boys for life’ on the club’s official social media channels.

Forwards Felise Kaufusi and Francis Molo will return to the field for Saturday afternoon’s away clash with Manly providing much-needed reinforcements for Kristian Woolf’s side.

Somewhat controversially, in openly celebrating the duo the Redcliffe outfit appears to have overlooked the gravity of why they were missing in the first place, especially 33-year-old Kaufusi.

Already one of the most suspended players in the NRL, Kaufusi returns from his latest suspension following a dangerous late tackle that left young New Zealand Warriors forward Jacob Laban with a potentially season-ending broken leg in Round 22.

Wahs fans and officials were openly furious at the leniency of Kaufusi’s sentence when it was handed down, believing the NRL Match Review Committee made its decision before understanding the severity of Laban’s injuries.

“That’s hard to take, but we move on,” Warriors coach Andrew Webster simmered at the time.

“I don’t want to get into hot water.”

While the Wahs are unlikely to see the humour in the latest social media quip, Phins fans have been lapping it up.

Bad boys, indeed.
