Jake Matthews earned his third consecutive victory on Sunday, with a first-round submission of Chidi Njokuani at UFC Nashville.
The 30-year-old was signed to the promotion in 2014 and is now experiencing the best form of his career.

Njokuani, who was also riding a win-streak into the bout, was no match for the Australian who dispatched him with a rear-naked choke in just one minute and nine seconds.
UFC commentator Daniel Cormier entered the cage after the victory was confirmed by Bruce Buffer, to interview Matthews in-front of a parochial Nashville crowd.
"I just want to say all credit to Chidi," said Matthews.
"Honestly, I was expecting a war, he’s probably one of the most dangerous guys I’ve fought.
"That [result] was probably a one-in-twenty chance, and I just managed to do everything right."
When pressed on who he would like to fight next, the Australian turned his attention to one of the welterweight divisions most accomplished contenders.
"My coach would hate it if I didn’t call out Gilbert Burns," said Matthews.
"I deserve to be in there with those boys, so if we can organise a top-15 [ranked fight], I’ll be there."
If his wish is granted, Matthews would enter the pool of contenders that are all chasing current champion and fellow Australian Jack Della Maddalena.
Della Maddalena was crowned as king of the welterweights back in May of this year after his monumental upset win over Belal Muhammad.
