Toby Greene's vicious Papley sledge propels Giants comeback image

Greater Western Sydney captain Toby Greene has called Sydney Swans forward Tom Papley 'overweight' during an entertaining halftime interview.

Greene was interviewed by the host broadcast, Fox Footy, at halftime as his Giants team trailed by 28 points at the main break.

He was asked about the sledging between Papley, who had 11 disposals and kicked one goal and two behinds, and himself.

"Yeah, he's looking overweight, we'll see how he goes [in] the second half," Greene said.

The words from Greene seemed to come true, with Papley having a limited impact with only three disposals in the second half, and he looked like he had an injury to his knee in the last quarter.

Greene himself only had three disposals in the first half, but kicked a goal in the third quarter and led his side to their 13th win of the season.

His words for Papley weren't missed by the commentators, who talked about it constantly throughout the second half of the game and showed it during coverage of the Essendon v Western Bulldogs game.

The Giants completed an impressive comeback win against their arch-rivals, coming back from a 35-point deficit to win by 44 points.

The win came after a halftime spray by GWS coach Adam Kingsley, with the Giants kicking nine goals to one in the third term.

Finn Callahan won the Brett Kirk medal for best on ground for his 21 disposals and one goal effort.

The win has ended the Swans' finals hopes, a disappointing season for them after making the grand final last year.
