The AFL's fixtures for this weekend have been blasted by prominent commentator Gerard Whateley, who has suggested even children would be told to start again if they came up with round 20.
The competition releases its schedule in blocks each season and the convoluted fixtures for this weekend take some effort to get your head around.
It all starts simply enough, with the Hawks taking on Carlton at the MCG on Thursday night.
But after that is where the problems begin.

The game's officials have jammed two games into Friday night, with Essendon commencing its clash with the Bulldogs at 7.20pm AEST at Marvel Stadium, 30 minutes before the marquee Sydney Derby gets underway at ENGIE Stadium.
Whateley called the round "odd" and "inconsistent", including the timing of one of the biggest QClashes in memory and the schedule for the latest Western Derby.
“As a starting point, the addiction to Carlton and Essendon in prime time is laid clear," Whateley said on AFL 360.
“The insults to the Giants and Swans and putting the Sydney Derby tucked underneath (Essendon vs Western Bulldogs) at 7.50pm Homebush is of no help whatsoever.
“Gold Coast has just played its biggest home game against Collingwood (in round 18). How do you build momentum? Well, how about for the most important QClash ever, we’ll give you the really strange 1.20pm Saturday afternoon, as if trying to thwart a huge crowd.
“It’s just plain weird the West Derby is in the Saturday twilight slot, 2.15pm (4.15pm AEST) over in the west.
“And it’s disrespecting the Showdown to have placed it where it is (8.10pm AEST) — underneath an all-Victorian clash — when it can carry so much.”
But the Sunday games are where Whateley saved his strongest vitriol.
“But the pièce de résistance is what they have done on Sunday," he said. "There are only two games, they are both in Melbourne at venues nearby and we haven’t been able to find clear air.
“The only 2.10pm start time of the year is Richmond vs Collingwood, then we’re going to start St Kilda vs Melbourne just to make sure they’re covered right over.
“If your kids brought you this fixture, you would send them back to their room and say ‘start again’.”
At what should be an exciting time of the year, with the finals on the horizon, we're sure social media will spring to life with complaints once this weekend's games get underway.
