With 11 goals on Saturday night, Geelong superstar Jeremy Cameron has kept the door slightly ajar to potentially reach 100 goals in season 2025, a milestone last achieved by Buddy Franklin.

As Cameron closes in on triple figures with 69 goals to his name with four rounds remaining plus finals, Franklin has vowed to join in on the celebrations if the four-time All-Australian is able to make history.

Speaking on The Buddy & Shane Show, the Hawthorn legend promised to wear the jumper of the Hawks’ biggest rival should Cameron hit the ton.

“I’ll run on [the ground] if he gets there. I’ll run on with a Geelong jumper on,” he said.

“Hopefully he can get there.

“[It’s] harder to kick multiple goals in finals against the good defences.

“It’s going to be difficult to do… but what a season he’s having.”

Franklin became the latest addition to the centurion club in 2008, reaching the ton in an iconic final round matchup with the Blues, where Carlton’s Brendan Fevola fell one goal short of the elusive 100.

Franklin became just the third player to reach triple figures (including both home-and-away and finals) since the turn of the century, joining an exclusive group that includes Fraser Gehrig (2004) and Matthew Lloyd (2001 and 2000).
