"We are only going to do 12 proper Coldplay albums, but we're a little bit behind," Martin told CBS News recently. "Not too far behind… That's just what it's supposed to be. I don't think anyone needs more than that from us. The Beatles did 12."
Before dropping the next album, Coldplay has focused on entertaining the masses. The "Music of the Spheres" tour has been well-received, with sold-out shows all over North America this spring and summer. The final leg will take the band to Hull before wrapping things up with a 10-show run at Wembley.
