The curtain came down on a glorious era for British tennis when Andy Murray confirmed his retirement in 2024.

The former World No. 1 was a three-time grand slam singles champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Two of Murray's slams came at Wimbledon, where he ended the 76-year wait for a men's winner from the UK by beating Novak Djokovic in 2013.

Picking up the baton as home favourite in the men's draw is Jack Draper, whose impressive recent form saw him enter Wimbledon 2025 as the fourth seed.

The 23-year-old left-hander was two sets up against Sebastian Baez in the opening round when his Argentine opponent withdrew through injury.

Here's all you need to know about what's next on Draper's Wimbledon agenda.

Jack Draper's next match

Draper takes on 2014 US Open champion and three-time grand slam finalist Marin Cilic in round two on Thursday, July 3.

Now 36, the veteran Croatian is still an awkward proposition on grass thanks to his booming serve, although his ranking has tumbled due to knee problems over recent years.

Draper vs. Cilic is the third scheduled match on Court No. 1, following Mirra Andreeva vs. Lucia Bronzetti and Maria Sakkari vs. Elena Rybakina in the women's singles draw.

Jack Draper's Wimbledon record

Draper was beaten in the juniors final at Wimbledon in 2018.

Remarkably for a player so highly ranked by the ATP, victory over Cilic would represent his best ever run at SW19, having fallen in round two in 2022 and 2024.

On his Wimbledon debut in 2021, the teenaged Draper took the opening set off Djokovic on Centre Court before losing in four sets. He missed the 2023 tournament through injury.

A run to the semifinals of the 2024 US Open, where Draper was seeded 25 and lost to eventual winner Jannik Sinner, continue his rise. In 2025, he reached the last 16 at the Australian and French Opens.
