The Denver Broncos opted not to give wide receiver Courtland Sutton a contract extension last offseason.
Now, with Sutton coming off a fantastic 2024 season with rookie QB Bo Nix, the Broncos have a dilemma.
They have two young defensive stars they'd like to extend, too, in Nik Bonitto and Zach Allen.
The Denver Post's Troy Renck writes, "All-Pros Nik Bonitto and Zach Allen are considered higher priorities for extensions (than Sutton)."

Part of the reason for this likely stems from the Broncos' young receiving corps around Sutton.
They've got Devaughn Vele, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant. Those guys are aged better to grow up with Nix.
Bonitto is likely the most expensive of the bunch coming off a second-team All-Pro season. He turns 26 in September.
Allen will play this season at 28 years old, and he led all interior defensive lineman in QB pressures in 2024 with 47.
Sutton is going to be 30.
This all makes logical sense for the Broncos, but there's a bit of risk involved.
If the young receivers don't develop as hoped and Sutton leaves, it might be bad news for Nix.
But if the WRs prove they belong, extending the defenders and letting someone else pay Sutton big money may be the way to go.
