Tottenham are desperately looking to bolster their squad in the final days of the Premier League summer transfer window.

Thomas Frank has until September 1 to reinforce his options with multiple targets on his radar ahead of a UEFA Champions League return in 2025/26.

Spurs have endured mixed start under the Dane, after throwing away a two-goal lead to lose the UEFA Super Cup final against PSG, before storming to a 3-0 win over Burnley in the new league campaign.

Frank has already spent £125m on new players this summer, including turning Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel's loans into permanent deals, and bringing in Joao Palhinha on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.

The most eye-catching arrival has been Mohammed Kudus - after the Ghanaian laid on two assists for Richarlison in the win over Burnley - but Frank needs more firepower.

Son Heung-min's departure has removed major experience from his squad but also a key forward threat.

Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze is rumoured to be Frank's main target but Eagles boss Oliver Glasner will fight to keep him at Selhurst Park.

Eze's £68m release clause from earlier this summer has now expired, but Palace will still demand a fee in that region, with the 27-year-old under contract until 2027.

Palace's lofty demands have forced Spurs to reconsider and Spanish transfer outlet Fichajes.net claims Real Sociedad winger Take Kubo could now be an option.

Tottenham turn to Take Kubo as Eze talks stall

Japan international Kubo kicked off his La Liga season with a late equaliser as La Real drew 1-1 at Valencia on the campaign opening weekend.

The 24-year-old who spent time at Barcelona and Real Madrid as a youngster, has developed into one of La Liga's most potent attackers, and Spurs are confident a deal can be struck for around €70m [£60m].

As he is under contract until 2029 in San Sebastian, La Real will push for a maximum price, as they did with Martin Zubimendi's move to Arsenal earlier this summer.

Kubo shone for Imanol Alguacil's team last season, finishing in La Liga's Top 10 for shot-creating actions [114], successful take-ons [75] and progressive carries [133].

La Real's lack of European qualification could also be a boost for Frank, as he can offer Kubo a spot in the UCL, but the main stumbling block appears to be the fee.
