USA vs. Haiti starting lineups, team news, score prediction: Pochettino to check on Wright image

The United States put poor pre-tournament form behind them to begin the CONCACAF Gold Cup with victories over Trinidad & Tobago and Saudi Arabia.

Those results mean Mauricio Pochettino's side are through the knockout rounds with a game to spare and a point against Haiti on Sunday will seal top spot in Group D.

Only a shock victory for Sebastien Migne’s side will get them beyond the group stage for the first time since 2019.

Haiti also need Saudi Arabia to drop points against Trinidad, but not to the extent that the Soca Warriors make up a four-goal deficit on goal difference.

USA vs. Haiti starting lineups, team news

U.S. Soccer announced that Haji Wright will miss the rest of the Gold Cup and cannot be replaced on the roster.

Pochettino must also ponder the optimal level of rotation, given a place in the knockouts is secured but his embattled side has belatedly started to find some rhythm.

Brenden Aaronson hit his 50-cap milestone with a substitute appearance against the Saudis and has earned the right to see this match from the beginning.

USMNT starting XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): 25. Freese (GK) — 16. Freeman, 3. Richards, 13. Ream, 2. Tolkin — 4. Adams, 14. de la Torre — 7. Sullivan, 11. B. Aaronson, 17. Tillman — 24. Agyemang.

Injured: Wright (Achilles), Pepi (knee), Steffen (knee), Dest (fitness/knee), A. Robinson (knee), Balogun (ankle).

Haiti are without Jean-Kevin Duverne after the defender was sent off against Trinidad. Ruben Providence could retain his spot in the starting lineup, having come in for Christopher Attys last time out.

Haiti starting XI (4-4-2 right to left): 1. Placide (GK) — 2. Arcus, 4. Ade, 6. Metusala, 8. Experience — 10. Louicius, 14. Pierre, 7. Jacques, 18. Providence — 9. Nazon, 20. Pierrot.

USA vs. Haiti score prediction

Haiti have proved to be stubborn opposition previously, with the USMNT only winning 1-0 in the past two meetings.

But, having battled through Saudi Arabia's stoic efforts and with the pressure off, Pochettino's team might be able to enjoy this one a little more.

Prediction: USA 3-0 Haiti
