Mason faced a host of selection calls ahead of taking charge against United, with captain Hugo Lloris not fit, and Ben Davies struggling with injury. Ryan Sessegnon has been missing since mid-February with a hamstring injury, and while he is thought to be nearing a return, he is not ready to take the field.
