The deal will be around a £40m package for Ramsey, and the signing is said to be imminent.
Ramsey had four goals and five assists across all competitions last season, and his insertion into the Newcastle midfield will give the Magpies a boost, as they lost Sean Longstaff earlier this summer to Leeds.
Newcastle start their Premier League campaign on August 16 against Aston Villa, although Ramsey might not make his debut for Newcastle just yet.
