Leny Yoro says Manchester United are heading into the new Premier League season seeking “revenge” as the Red Devils eye redemption for last year’s historically poor campaign.
United finished 15th in the league last season – their lowest top-flight finish since relegation in 1974.
It was a dismal campaign for Ruben Amorim, who struggled to steady the ship and get the United squad to buy into his vision after taking over from Erik ten Hag midway through the season.
But there are early signs of a reset. Amorim has now overseen a promising preseason as he prepares for his first full campaign in charge.
United remained unbeaten during their preseason tour of the United States, picking up two wins and one draw against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton as they claimed the Premier League Summer Series.
The club has also strengthened key areas with the signings of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Yoro, 19, made 21 Premier League appearances last season – just 12 of those being starts – as he struggled with an ankle injury.
Now fully fit, the youngster believes the squad is focused and motivated heading into the new campaign.
What has Yoro said about United’s upcoming campaign?
Yoro spoke to the media as Manchester United’s squad returned to Old Trafford to resume preseason preparations.
“When you play for Manchester United, you need to have the mindset of being the best version of yourself,” he said.
“I think what we did last season was a mistake for us. When you're Manchester United, you cannot be at this position. The fans know it, everyone knows it. I think we understand this.”
Indeed, United fans will certainly be hoping that their side has learnt from the mistakes of last season, and the recent positive signs from players and coaches certainly provide a sense of optimism.

Yoro also insisted that this season “will be different” ahead of United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal at Old Trafford on August 17.
“This season will be different for us. It will be like revenge from last season. We need to do better,” Yoro admitted.
“We are a big club. There are a lot of people that want us to fail and we know that. But there are also a lot of people that want us to do it, to do great things. We just focus on the fans, you know.
“We don't care about what they say outside, about the media, everyone said bull*** about us last year.
“But I understand because we didn't do really well. This season will be different, I hope for us. We don't need to listen to this and just be focused on ourselves.”
