Man United slash rebel's sale price as Premier League rivals make demand image

Ruben Amorim is wielding the axe at Manchester United this summer with several star names on course to leave Old Trafford.

The former Sporting CP boss will not walk away from a pressurised situation at United after finishing in a club-record low of 15th in the Premier League last season.

Amorim has wasted no time in setting out his objectives as the club hierarchy demand sales and salary cuts across his squad.

Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho are all on Amorim's exit list but agreeing deals to sell all three could prove to be beyond Amorim's remit.

The other high-profile name doing his best to engineer an exit is Alejandro Garnacho with fan opinion swinging significantly against the Argentina international.

Alongside reports of a tense relationship with Amorim, the 20-year-old voiced his frustration at starting on the bench in the UEFA Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in May, with Chelsea reportedly tracking him once more.

His latest stunt of posting a social media image wearing a 'Rashford 9' Aston Villa shirt - referencing his teammate's loan stint at Villa Park earlier this year - has convinced fans and Amorim over his sale.

Despite the eagerness of Amorim to sell the winger, Chelsea are in a strong position, and they could demand a major price reduction due to United's weakened spot.

Man United drop Alejandro Garnacho price to seal Chelsea deal

As per reports from the Daily Star, Amorim has told Garnacho he wants to sell him this summer, but the club's stance will need to change.

Owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is rumoured to be ready to slash his previous asking price of £60m, due to their readiness to complete a quickfire deal, with a new valuation set at £45m.

That switch is based on the club growing tired of Garnacho's attitude, and it could bring Chelsea back into the hunt for the Madrid-born attacker, with all money generated as profit due to his status as a homegrown player under Profit & Sustainability Rules [PSR].

The PSR clause also applies to Rashford, with Amorim willing to accept £40m for the 27-year-old, if he can offload the academy graduate.

Amorim's squad are due back in for preseason training at the start of July - including Rashford and Garnacho - before a friendly clash with Leeds United in Stockholm on July 19 and a tour of the USA.
