Harvey Elliot missed his spot kick for Liverpool in the shootout at Wembley Stadium as his side lost to Crystal Palace on penalties in the Community Shield.

Elliot came on as a late substitute in that match and did not feature regularly for the Reds in the last campaign.

He has been linked with a move away from Anfield all summer, but has kept his stock high by being a key part of the England side that won the European U21 Championship.

There has been interest in the midfielder from teams in Germany and domestic clubs. Now another Premier League side reportedly wants Elliot.

The Sun has revealed that "Palace are planning to raid Liverpool before the end of the transfer window - in a bid to secure Harvey Elliott."

Would Harvey Elliot be a good fit at Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace are in a purple patch when it comes to lifting trophies, having won the FA Cup and the Community Shield this year.

Unfortunately for Palace, they were demoted from the Europa League to the Europa Conference League. However, they will still need a big squad to compete on all fronts.

There has been talk that Eberechi Eze could leave the club for Tottenham Hotspur this transfer window. If this is to be the case, then Palace will desperately need to boost their attack.

Elliot needs more game time, and this should be guaranteed under Oliver Glasner at Palace. A return to London for the former Fulham player could be a shrewd move.
