Crystal Palace are wary that their top players, including Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze, may still depart the club before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Guehi has been heavily linked with Liverpool, but the Eagles have already identified a potential replacement for their captain.

According to the Independent, "Palace are considering Rennes talent Jeremy Jacquet should Marc Guehi join Liverpool, although that move remains very much in the balance."

Oliver Glasner's side has had great success recently, winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield. However, to build on their triumphs, their recruitment needs to be on point.

Who is Crystal Palace target Jeremy Jacquet?

Jacquet is Rennes' up-and-coming star center-back, who has been capped by France up to U21 level.

He is highly rated, but still inexperienced at just 20 years old. Jacquet has represented Rennes 13 times in Ligue 1, helping them finish 12th in the division last season.

The defender comes from the Bondy region of Paris. This area is known for producing many top-level footballers, including Kylian Mbappe.

Jacquet starred for his country at the European U19 Championship, where he helped France make it to the final and was voted included in the team of the tournament.
