Marcus Rashford continues to impress as Barcelona build towards the start of the 2025/26 La Liga season.

The Catalans agreed a season-loan deal to sign the England international in July with his prospects at Manchester United slashed under Ruben Amorim.

Amorim placed Rashford on a transfer exit list earlier this summer, following his return from a loan stint at Aston Villa in the second half of 2024/25.

After missing out on Nico Williams, Barcelona pushed hard for the 27-year-old, and they retain a £40m purchase clause on him for 2026.

Hansi Flick has looked to ease him into action with cameos off the bench in all three of Barcelona's preseason tour games in Japan and South Korea.

Barcelona have secured three wins on the road in Asia, including a tour-ending 5-0 victory over Daegu, with Rashford slotting home his first goal for the club.

Rashford replaced Robert Lewandowski at half-time in Deagu and Flick confirmed he will challenge the Poland superstar - and Raphinha - as a Barcelona starter this season.

"I'm happy with the facilities in Seoul and the opponents. They were good tests for us," as per Mundo Deportivo.

"Rashford can play as a No.9 [like Lewandowski, and as a No.11 [like Raphinha]. We put him in the centre today because Ferran Torres was injured."

Lewandowski and Raphinha were sensational for Barcelona as Flick clinched a trophy treble in his debut 2024/25 season in Spain.

They both started 32 out of 38 La Liga games, with 27 and 18 league goals scored respectively, but Rashford's form shows he can offer a fresh option if needed in the months to come.

Barcelona wrap up their preseason with the Joan Gamper Trophy at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on August 10.
