Barcelona are still looking to balance their finances ahead of the 2025/26 La Liga season.
Hansi Flick's side sealed the La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercup trophies in his debut 2024/25 campaign but the club are still working towards a 1:1 transfer policy.
That effectively means caution in the transfer market, with all new arrivals balanced against a relevant sale or fresh revenue stream, to avoid slipping back into renewed financial difficulty.
Despite improvements in their fiscal standing, the club required a La Liga loophole to register new players last season, as Dani Olmo and Wojciech Szczesny faced uncertainty.
Both players were only eligible to be registered with La Liga due to long-term injuries in Flick's squad and the former was de-registered at the start of 2025.
La Liga allows 80% of salaries for players out injured four months or more to be repurposed on replacements and Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford need sales to ease their registration.

Alex Valle, Pablo Torre and Pau Victor have already moved on, but more is needed, with reports from Mundo Deportivo indicating Flick is prepared to sell highly-rated Hector Fort.

Hector Fort's Barcelona contract, transfer value, exit latest
Fort has emerged through Barcelona's famed La Masia academy system with 30 first-team appearances since his debut in December 2023.
Flick included him in 20 games last season, as deputy right-back to Jules Kounde, but the 18-year-old could now be on the move.

Kounde is rumoured to be closing in on a contract extension, as Flick's first choice in the position, but Fort is the only specialist cover - with Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo both centre backs by trade.
Fort's current deal runs out in June 2026, so this summer is Barcelona's final realistic chance to secure a transfer fee, with no discussions over an extension at this stage.
Barcelona are considering loan offers, and a £9m sale with a buy back option, as Mallorca lead the charge for his signature.
