Just like how the last season ended, Arsenal's summer transfer window until now has been a major disappointment. The Gunners have a lot at stake in this transfer window, and the fact that they have not made any significant moves in the market is disheartening for the fans.
The North Londoners finished second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season and haven't won any silverware for five years now. So the upcoming season could well be a make-or-break campaign for manager Mikel Arteta.
But unfortunately, that urgency hasn't been reflected in their transfer dealings, at least as of now. The Gunners have been keen on signing a prolific striker, and they have been linked with Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
In the past week, the Gunners have reportedly held talks with Sesko's entourage. They are gradually advancing, but it would need a whopping £92.5 million for the 22-year-old until they manage to negotiate a lower transfer fee for the Slovenian.
However, positive reports are coming from Martin Zubimendi's camp as Arsenal are reportedly close to wrapping up the deal with the Real Sociedad midfielder despite Real Madrid's rumoured interest in the 26-year-old.
The Gunners are also looking at a left-winger and they are monitoring players like Nico Williams, Igor Paixao, Morgan Rogers and even Rodrygo. Some reports suggest that they may also turn to Leroy Sane, who will be available for free from July.
