Duo sweep clean in chase for MODUS Super Series Women's Week (III) qualification

The first Women's Week champion, Rhian O’Sullivan, and Vicky Pruim took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Gemma Hayter in Saturday’s finale at the MODUS Super Series, Portsmouth, UK. 

In Group B, Rhian O’Sullivan (Pictured) took the early lead after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four, as she recorded victories against Laura Turner, Kirsi Viinikainen, Lorraine Winstanley and Lisa Ashton, to sit on a maximum 8 points from a possible 8 thus far.  

Elsewhere, Kirsi Viinikainen and Lisa Ashton ended the evening 2^nd and 3^rd respectively on 4 points each, whilst Lorraine Winstanley and Laura Turner sit 4^th and 5^th on 2 points each.  

Meanwhile, Pruim, who last appeared at the Super Series, made a perfect return by completing a clean sweep with five wins from five in Group C, as she recorded victories against Trina Gulliver, Kirsty Hutchinson, Katie Sheldon, Robyn Byrne and Paige Pauling, to sit on a maximum 10 points from a possible 10 thus far.  

Elsewhere, Trina Gulliver ended the day in 2^nd on 8 points, whilst Paige Pauling sits in 3^rd on 6 points, Robyn Byrne in 4^th on 4 points, Kirsty Hutchinson in 5^th on 2 points and Katie Sheldon bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats.  

The MODUS Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Gemma Hayter in Saturday’s finale, with Pruim and O’Sullivan taking the early lead thus far.

Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST. Play will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
