Ravindra Jadeja ended the England Test series on a special note, both for himself and Indian cricket.

On Day 3 of the fifth Test at The Oval, Jadeja played yet another valuable knock that not only helped India stretch their lead but also wrote his name in the history books.

With a superb 53 in the second innings, Jadeja became only the sixth player in Test history to score over 500 runs in a single series while batting at No. 6 or lower.

How did Ravindra Jadeja’s latest fifty help India?

Coming in when India had just lost their fifth wicket on Day 3, Jadeja once again played with calmness and class.

He added crucial runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal (44-run stand), then teamed up with Dhruv Jurel to stitch a 50-run partnership for the seventh wicket. His next cameo with Washington Sundar brought 34 more runs, inching India’s lead close to the 350-run mark.

Jadeja’s 53 off 77 balls included 5 boundaries before he was dismissed by Josh Tongue.  But by then, he had done enough to leave England chasing a tricky fourth-innings total.
