The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced their 14-man squad for the first Test of the five-match Test series against India, starting on June 20.
This series will kickstart a new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, with the final scheduled to be played in 2027.

England have decided to include a fast-bowling all-rounder in the form of Jamie Overton, who will replace his Sussex teammate Gus Atkinson, who misses out due to an injury.
With a good mix of young and experienced players, England are looking to start things strongly in the series, as they will look to seek revenge for their last series defeat at the hands of the Men in Blue in 2024.

England squad for 1st Test against India
Ben Stokes will be leading the lines once again, as batters like Joe Root, Zack Crawley, and Ollie Pope will constitute the top order. It's good to see a handful of young talents getting picked for the all-important tour, as Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, and Jamie Smith get to keep their place in the longest format.
Veteran pacer Chris Woakes makes a surprise return to the red-ball format, while the inclusion of Josh Tongue, Brydon Carse, and Sam Cook indicates that there's a lot of firepower in the English bowling lineup.
