India was in a strong position heading into Day 5 of the third Test at Lord's. They needed just 135 runs with six wickets in hand, but the England camp was not entirely comfortable with the equation, with Rishabh Pant still left to bat.
But the mood changed soon after Washington Sundar confidently told Sky Sports that India would "definitely" win on Day 5. It was a claim that didn't sit well with the England team and one that ended up backfiring for the Indian allrounder.
India fell short in the end and lost the match by 22 runs, to go down 2-1 in the five-match Test series.

Jos Buttler calls out Washington Sundar's overconfidence
Jos Buttler, speaking with Stuart Broad, revealed just how much Sundar's statement fired up the English dressing room. He said Sundar's overconfidence made its way into the team's morning motivation.
"You don’t miss a thing, do you, in this day and age? Someone will have heard about that in the dressing room. It's almost like instead of anyone having to say anything this morning for England, you could've just played that interview and that would've got people so fired up," Buttler said on the "For the Love of Cricket" podcast.
"Yeah, we're going to win. And it's always one of those moments. You set yourself up, don’t you? It's horrible," Buttler added on Sundar's comment, which aged badly.
Brendon McCullum fires up team from the Lord's balcony
Buttler also described a rare moment involving head coach Brendon McCullum, who usually keeps a calm presence, but it was different when Sundar walked out to bat on Day 5.
McCullum leaned forward from the Lord's balcony and signalled the team to turn up the heat.
"There's a little clip of McCullum telling everyone to raise it. It’s the guy who's been chirping. Even McCullum, possibly the only time he didn't have his feet up, leaned forward and said, 'Come on. Let's ramp it up for this guy," Buttler added.

Sundar had earlier taken four wickets. He lasted just four balls before getting dismissed to Jofra Archer.
His duck and India's collapse to 170 all out handed England a dramatic 22-run win and a 2-1 lead in the series.
