The UEFA European Women’s Championship has been full of drama, but there is one twist left in the tale as England take on Spain in the final St. Jakob Park in Basel on Sunday.

And patriotic punters can get in on the action by backing the Lionesses thanks to a huge 50/1 offer on England to win with Paddy Power.

In a repeat of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final, the defending champions England have squeezed their way into the final to take on the pre-tournament favourites.

The Lionesses' path to the showpiece has been anything but straightforward after injury-time comebacks and penalty heroics along the way, but they are now seeking to repeat their feat of lifting this title against Germany at Wembley Stadium three years ago.

Spain, meanwhile, have the chance to reassert their place as the best women's international team on the planet by backing up their FIFA Women’s World Cup triumph in Australia.

There's plenty of opportunity for betting value on this one, including courtesy of Paddy Power's stunning offer.

England vs. Spain Women's Euro 2025 final prediction

To say that England have kept us living on our nerves this summer would be an understatement.

An underwhelming 2-1 opening defeat to France raised questions about the Lionesses' ability to go all the way, and time and time again Sarina Wiegman's side looked like they were beaten.

Having squeezed through the group, England have needed big moments and late drama on more than one occasion in the knockout stages.

They came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with two late goals in the quarter-final against Sweden before edging a tense penalty shootout before Michelle Agyemang's 97th-minute equaliser and Chloe Kelly's 119th-minute winner broke Italy's hearts in the semi-final.

Spain, on the other hand, have played a slick and impressive style of football that saw them breeze through to the semi-finals, where they came through their first real test by defeating Germany after extra time.

It's no surprise that Spain are the firm favourites for this final and they are currently priced up at 7/10 with Sky Bet, while England are at 16/5 with the same bookmaker and the draw is at 12/5.

And when making our predictions we're sorry to say that the head has to rule the heart on this one, with the Spanish coming out on top.

England vs. Spain Women's Euro 2025 final latest odds, correct score betting

England have found a way to score when they haven’t been playing well throughout the tournament, and with Spain being slightly susceptible at the back, then the Lionesses getting on the scoresheet wouldn’t be a surprise here.

However, Spain remain firm favourites with their abundance of attacking quality, in both midfield and in the front three, and they should come out on top.

Here's the most likely outcomes for this one, according to the bookmakers. You can click the prices below to bet direct with our selected partners.

England vs. Spain Women's Euro 2025 final team news

  • Lauren James began the tournament unfit and in a central position for England but started to thrive when playing out wide. She was again a doubt for the semi-final, though, and had to be replaced at half-time with an ankle injury.
  • Both Michelle Agyemang and Chloe Kelly have turned themselves into super subs in this tournament and Sarina Wiegman may be keen to keep those players as impact finishers, rather than starters.
  • Spain attacker Athenea del Castillo was a fitness doubt ahead of their defeat of Germany in the semi-finals, but she came off the bench and played around 40 minutes so should be good to go for the final.
  • The Spanish will be able to welcome back centre-back Laia Aleixandri for the final, after she served her one-match suspension against Germany.

England vs. Spain Bet Builder tips

Our bet builder tip for the final is Spain to win inside 90 minutes, Both Teams To Score and Alexia Putellas to score anytime.

At time of writing that selection is just over 14/1 with Betway.

England have proved themselves capable of grinding out results when it matters most, but  Spain are simply a better side and former double women's Ballon d'or winner Putellas is a player for the big occasion. She hasn’t scored since the group stages but we think the bookies are sleeping on her talent.

England vs. Spain head-to-head

These two sides have faced each other twice since Spain won 1-0 in the World Cup final in Sydney in 2023.

England won 1-0 in the Nations League in February while Spain claimed the honours in the reverse fixture, 2-1 in June.

Overall, the Spanish have managed four victories with England winning seven of their previous encounters. There have also been three draws.
