PSG are a slick outfit nowadays but even before the evolution into a serious team that can blow most English teams away, they were always capable of demolishing the rest of France — coming so close to becoming the first French side to go unbeaten through a domestic campaign before back-to-back losses either side of that Champions League semi-final first-leg against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Reims’ boss Diawara urged his players to focus on survival as the priority when they reached the final of this competition back in early April, and they did seem all but assured of it at one point. As a result, PSG — likely to name their strongest XI with the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue fluidly interchanging at the top of solid defence and a brilliant midfield — should rack up a comfortable cup final victory this weekend.
