The 2025/26 Premier League season is more or less upon us, with the curtain raiser for the season, the Community Shield, having taken place at Wembley Stadium last weekend with Crystal Palace defeating Liverpool on penalties.
Liverpool are the defending champions of the league and the Reds have spent heavily in what has been a difficult summer that has seen the tragic death of forward Diogo Jota.
As well as Liverpool, there has been an incredible amount of money spent elsewhere in the Premier League with nearly £2 billion spent on incoming transfers with a few weeks of the window still to go.
Arsenal were runners-up last year and have brought in six new signings, including Viktor Gyokeres as their new striker, whilst Manchester City and Chelsea have remained heavy spenders, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur both also aiming to restore some pride domestically after their humiliating seasons in the league last year.
Burnley, Leeds United and Sunderland have all signed a high number of players and spent a lot of money themselves, too, following their promotion from the Championship.
As we approach what appears to be a fascinating 2025/26 Premier League campaign, The Sporting News has you covered with the latest table prediction as well as the latest odds for all of the key things to fight for this season.
Predicted Premier League table 2025/26
Based on the average odds of over 20 bookmakers via Oddschecker, the predicted Premier League table for the upcoming season is as follows:
| 1st | Liverpool |
| 2nd | Arsenal |
| 3rd | Manchester City |
| 4th | Chelsea |
| 5th | Manchester United |
| 6th | Newcastle United |
| 7th | Tottenham Hotspur |
| 8th | Aston Villa |
| 9th | Brighton and Hove Albion |
| 10th | Nottingham Forest |
| 11th | Crystal Palace |
| 12th | Everton |
| 13th | AFC Bournemouth |
| 14th | West Ham United |
| 15th | Brentford |
| 16th | Wolverhampton Wanderers |
| 17th | Leeds United |
| 18th | Fulham |
| 19th | Burnley |
| 20th | Sunderland |
Liverpool come out as favourites to defend their title, but Arne Slot does have his work cut out to ensure they can quickly adapt to the amount of changes being made to what was a successful squad and team last season.
The rest of the top four is made up of the same as last season with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea, with Manchester United seemingly tipped to potentially earn the fifth and final UEFA Champions League spot, whilst Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa make up the rest of the potential European places.
In terms of relegation, Sunderland and Burnley are favoured to go straight back down with Fulham currently deemed the likeliest to join them, which would make a difference from the last two seasons in which the three newly-promoted sides have been immediately relegated.

The following odds are correct at the time of publish.
| Odds according to Sky Bet | |
|---|---|
| Liverpool | 13/8 |
| Arsenal | 2/1 |
| Manchester City | 3/1 |
| Chelsea | 15/2 |
| Manchester United | 18/1 |
Liverpool are backed as short as 13/8 to defend their title and win their third Premier League crown in six seasons, and they are fairly heavy favourites after the signings of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Arsenal and Manchester City are said to be the closest challengers at 2/1 and 3/1 respectively, with both having to transition themselves this season, too, whilst FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea have only had a weeks’ worth of pre-season before the start of the campaign. Manchester United, with their new look attack of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko are outsiders but still surprisingly priced at 18/1.

Burnley are the heavy favourites to be relegated this season after the Clarets, who had such an incredible defensive record last year, have since lost James Trafford and CJ Egan-Riley following promotion. Play-off winners Sunderland are also said to be odds on to go down, whilst Bet365 actually have Leeds United among their bottom three, but at odds against of 11/10.
Outside of the newly-promoted sides, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford are said to be the most likely candidates to drop after both sides sold key players, with Wolves losing Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha, with the Bees selling Christian Norgaard and Bryan Mbeumo.
