Premier League football predictions — best tips, odds and accumulator betting for 'Super Sunday' final day fixtures this weekend image

We are heading into the final showdown of the 2024/25 Premier League season and while perhaps the more exciting elements of the league table, such as the title race and the relegation battle, have been over for some time, there is still plenty of drama to be had in the European race.

Three spots remain unclaimed for UEFA Champions League qualification, with five teams still in the hunt. There is also a set of results that could see eighth place gain UEFA Conference League qualification, or at least have a chance of it ahead of the final of that competition between Chelsea and Real Betis in Wroclaw in midweek.

In terms of the top five, Manchester City need to avoid defeat at Craven Cottage against Fulham to confirm their passage through to Europe’s elite club competition again, while Newcastle United and Chelsea know victories for them will likely be enough given their massive goal difference advantage.

However, if either of those teams slip up then Aston Villa will be ready to pounce, should they defeat a woeful Manchester United side at Old Trafford.

Chelsea actually head to the City Ground to face another competitor in the top-five race in Nottingham Forest, who require a victory and one of Villa or Newcastle to slip-up to earn themselves one of the unlikeliest of qualifications for the Champions League in recent times.

If Chelsea do lose and end up in seventh spot but then go on to beat Betis in a few days’ time, then eighth place in the Premier League will also qualify for Europe, meaning the league will have 10 teams in European competition next season.

Brighton sit in pole position for eighth spot at the moment, but a defeat against newly crowned Europa League winners Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would give Brentford the chance to overtake them on goal difference as the Bees head to Molineux to face Wolves.

Bournemouth vs. Leicester

In midweek, Bournemouth had their challenge for a top-eight finish finally ended, as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad in what was Kevin De Bruyne’s final home game for City.

Jamie Vardy, in contrast, played his final game for Leicester as they defeated Ipswich 2-0 last week, with Vardy scoring his 200th goal for the club in his 500th appearance for the Foxes.

Leicester, despite the expectation that Ruud van Nistelrooy will depart at the end of the season, are finishing with something of a flourish, having collected seven points from their last three matches.

Given that Bournemouth have little left to play for, we could be in for quite an entertaining encounter down on the south coast, in which we expect Leicester to take the game to an intense and always fun to watch Cherries side. Going for a high-scoring encounter is a good bet and over 2.5 goals with Paddy Power is priced at 4/11.

Fulham vs. Man City

Fulham have bloodied the nose of plenty of teams at Craven Cottage this season, even beating Liverpool in west London last month before the Reds had been crowned champions.

They have little to play for by way of the league table but that shouldn’t stop Marco Silva’s Cottagers wanting to finish their season well at home against City.

City, on the other hand, do have to see the job through of qualifying for the Champions League and Pep Guardiola’s side cannot afford any slip-ups.

City should still come out on top but it could be a full-throttle affair at the Cottage, as is often the case with Fulham — and especially against a City side who appear to still be susceptible at the back. Backing City but in a game in which both teams score comes in at a best price of 15/8 with betway.

Ipswich vs. West Ham

Heading into the final day having already been relegated, Ipswich have little to play for other than to send their supporters into the summer with a bit of hope ahead of their return to the Championship.

Graham Potter has endured a horrible time of it as West Ham boss since he replaced Julen Lopetegui in mid-January and it’ll be a case of just trying to get out of this season as quickly as possible.

Ipswich can’t ever be trusted to show any kind of consistency, but with home advantage on the final day and what will be a good atmosphere against such a poor opposition, they should be backed to score a couple of goals. Ipswich to go over 1.5 goals is currently 11/10 with Betfair.

Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace

The Premier League winners and the FA Cup winners meet at Anfield in what should be a party atmosphere. Both will still be celebrating, and the Premier League trophy will be formally presented to the Reds.

The next competitive outing for these two will come against each other at Wembley in the Community Shield in August to kick off 2025/26.

Liverpool have collected just one point from their last three matches since they were crowned champions of England for the 20th time last month, but those games have been entertaining to watch, containing 13 goals.

Crystal Palace are far from coasting after winning their first-ever major trophy in the FA Cup final, and the Eagles comfortably beat Wolves 4-2 at Selhurst Park in midweek.

With the shackles fully off for both, they have the chance to put on a show and Both Teams To Score in a game with over 3 goals can be found at 1.1/1 with VBet.

Man Utd vs. Aston Villa

Manchester United have been genuinely woeful throughout this season and Ruben Amorim’s problems are mounting, with the Red Devils now assured to miss out on European football next season.

Fresh from the Europa League final humbling by Tottenham, they face an Aston Villa side who do not have the best record at Old Trafford. Even with that, Unai Emery's side should be fancied to get the job done here.

United will be desperate for this season to be over as quickly as possible but it may be yet another tortuous afternoon and a comfortable Villa win with a -1 handicap is temptingly priced at 2/1 with betway.

Newcastle vs. Everton

Newcastle know that a win at St James’ Park against an Everton side with nothing to play for will be enough to qualify them for the Champions League. They will be confident of that, even with Alexander Isak being a doubt for the Magpies.

Everton said goodbye to Goodison Park last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Southampton, thanks to an Iliman Ndiaye brace. They are one of few teams who cannot move in the table on the final day, with the Toffees firmly ensconced in 13th place.

Mackem Jordan Pickford may well have extra reason to be inspired in the Everton goal, given his dislike of Newcastle, but a comfortable home win remains the expected result on Tyneside. Jump on Newcastle to win at 2/7with Paddy Power

Nottingham Forest vs. Chelsea

Nuno Espirito Santo and his Nottingham Forest side have already surpassed expectations by ensuring that they will be in Europe next season, but a victory here gives them a chance of securing the wild possibility of Champions League football.

Chelsea could well play into Forest’s hands at the City Ground, with Enzo Maresca’s Blues having got a lot worse since trying to play a more deliberate and slower style of football.

Forest switched to a 4-1-2-1-2 system in a 2-1 win at West Ham last weekend and that put Anthony Elanga up-front alongside Chris Wood. The Sweden international has showed often what he can do in transition and backing him to score at any time would be represent good value at 7/2 with betway.

Southampton vs. Arsenal

With Lens’ English-Belgian coach Will Still reportedly being lined up by Southampton, Saints interim boss Simon Rusk will hope to finish the season with his reputation enhanced by a surprise home win.

They face an Arsenal side who eventually secured their position as Premier League runners- up with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s men may well take their foot off the gas on the final day but it should be a good game for the attackers to pad out their statistics. A comfortable Gunners win with a -1 handicap represents a good way to boost your acca at 8/11 with Paddy Power.

Tottenham vs. Brighton

Tottenham won their first trophy since 2008 in midweek as they edged past Man Utd to lift the Europa League and ensure they will be playing Champions League football next season, despite sitting 17th.

Brighton, meanwhile, came from behind twice to beat Liverpool at the AMEX Stadium. That put them in pole position should a Conference League spot open up in in the coming days.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side will want to ensure they remain the side ready to pounce if Chelsea slip up on the final day and Spurs could suffer a hangover from their European exertions.

A Brighton win at 8/11 with Betfair is the expected outcome in north London.

Wolves vs. Brentford

Wolves have been much-improved since the appointment of Vitor Pereira in mid-December but they have slipped away of late with survival secured and a 4-2 loss at Crystal Palace in midweek means they have now endured three successive losses.

They face a Brentford side who will believe they should be in pole position for the top eight spot in the Premier League but instead now find themselves relying on Brighton to lose to climb the standings.

Thomas Frank’s side have been simply sensational to watch from a neutral’s viewpoint this season, with their 37 Premier League games consisting of a combined total of 121 goals.

That should mean another high-scoring game on Sunday and over 2.5 goals is 4/9 with Betfair.
