The wild 2025 PGA Tour season continues this weekend, with the race to the FedExCup Playoffs really starting to heat up. Aldrich Potgieter prevailed out of a three-player playoff at the Rocket Classic last week, becoming the ninth different player to notch his first career PGA win this season. He'll look to make it back-to-back wins this weekend at the 2025 John Deere Classic.
Defending John Deere champion Davis Thompson will also compete in the 156-player field, as will five other former champs of TPC Deere Run. If Thompson can pull off the repeat, he will become the first player to win back-to-back at the Deere since Steve Stricker won three straight from 2009 to 2011.
Ben Griffin serves as the favourite at 16-1, followed by Denny McCarthy (22-1), Jason Day (25-1) and Michael Thorbjornsen (25-1). Thompson and Kevin Yu enter the tournament at 30-1 odds.
Let's take a look at the complete odds board for the 2025 John Deere Classic, then lock in our best bets, top value wagers and favourite pick to finish in the top 20 on Fourth of July weekend.

John Deere Classic 2025 best bet to win

Michael Thorbjornsen (28/1, AK Bets)
Thorbjornsen enters the weekend in solid form, having finished T4 at the Rocket Classic last Sunday. The American has a fantastic short game, all of which were in peak form last weekend. He finished top 10 in the field in Strokes Gained: Around the Green (SG: ATG) and SG: Putting, and 16th in SG: Off the Tee.
Thorbjornsen finished runner-up at TPC Deere Run in 2024 and T17 in 2023. Watch the Ohio native take down his first-career PGA Tour victory this weekend in Illinois, rewarding us with a nice windfall at 28-1.
John Deere Classic 2025 best value bet
Chris Kirk (40/1, AK Bets)
Our 92-1 long-shot bet for the Rocket Classic last week, Kirk very nearly won it all but faltered on the first hole of the three-player playoff. We're going right back to him, though, as he's been in fine form since his T12 at the US Open in mid-June. He has the kind of skills on approach and around-the-green play that translate to success at TPC Deere Run. Plus, he's one of the many golfers staying in the famed JDC “Trophy house,” which has hosted the tournament's past three champions.
John Deere Classic 2025 top long-shot bet
Nico Echavarria (63/1, Betfair)
Here's hoping Echavarria can finish strong and land us a big payday at the Deere. The Columbian just finished T6 at the Rocket Classic, and his putter has been elite nearly all season. This feels like great value for a guy who finished at the top of last Sunday's Rocket field in SG: Tee to Green.
John Deere Classic 2025 best bet to place top 10
J.T. Poston (4/1, Betfair)
Poston has flown under the radar a bit this season, but he should be a prime contender this weekend with many of the PGA's heavy hitters absent from the field. The American finished T5 at the PGA Championship not long ago, and he has registered 13 straight rounds of 70 or better at TPC Deere Run. He won this tournament in 2022 and finished T6 a year later, so he's more than comfortable making some noise in Illinois.
