The 2025 French Open is well and truly under way as we close out round one on the third day of action at Roland Garros.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz and World No.1 Jannik Sinner secured safe passage to the second round, and today is the turn of Novak Djokovic, as he starts his latest quest for a record-extending 25th major title.
Third seed Alexander Zverev and British No.1 Jack Draper also start their tournament today, as do Daniil Medvedev and Cam Norrie, who meet in arguably the pick of the opening round men's match-ups.
On the women's side, American pair Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula are the standouts and the likeliest challengers to World No.1 Iga Swiatek, who started her bid for four French Opens in a row with a straight-sets win over Rebecca Sramkova. Gauff lost to the Pole in the 2023 final, and will be aiming to go one better this time around.
Here we round up the best tips and predictions, as well as the best free bets and bonus offers from leading bookmakers to make things even more exciting.

French Open betting today: Top tips, predictions, odds and favourites for Tuesday
Here's our pick of the best bets on Day 3 of the French Open. Odds are correct at time of publish with the firms listed, but subject to change.
- Djokovic to win in straight sets — (1/3, betway)
- Medvedev to beat Norrie in four sets — (13/5, Betfair)
- Draper to win in straight sets — (2/5, 10bet)
- Pegula to win in straight sets — (2/5, Paddy Power)
The opening round rarely sees any true shocks, and it's hard to see that changing today. Fresh off the mutual ending of his coaching partnership with Andy Murray, Djokovic will be determined to show he still has plenty left in the tank, so expect a strong start from him against Mackenzie McDonald.
Medvedev has never progressed past the quarter-final stage of the clay tournament, but believes he is playing his "best ever" tennis on the surface right now. Norrie is likely to put it up to him, but expect the Russian to prevail. Seeded at 11, he is a sleeper bet to go far.
Draper comes into Rolland Garros in fine form, having made the final of the Madrid Open at the start of the month, and off the back of his two best majors performances at the US Open (semi-final) and Australia Open (fourth round). He should have too much for Italian Mattia Belucci.
Pegula's best performance so far at the French Open was a quarter-final appearance in 2022, but she did make the final of the doubles in the same year with Gauff, so she is adept on the surface. She will expect to make light work of 20-year-old Romanian Anca Todoni.
