The 2025 UEFA Women’s Championship has already had some thrills and spills as we make our way through the final round of the group stage, with the defending champions England still in danger of being eliminated.

The so-called ‘Group of Death’, Group D, has the Lionesses alongside the Netherlands, France and Wales and despite an excellent hammering of the Dutch to reignite their campaign after an opening loss to France, Sarina Wiegman's side are not guaranteed of progress yet.

They face Wales on Sunday knowing that only a win will be sufficient to keep their fate in their own hands. Let's check out the latest betting on what the bookies think will happen.

England to win with -3 Handicap (11/10 with SkyBet)

England need to continue to put the foot down in their final game, just like they did against the Netherlands, because if they beat Wales then the job is done. The only way in which they could be  knocked out would be on goal difference, and that seems unlikely. The Lionesses have shown their quality, after a concerning opening defeat to the French, and they will be expected to turn on the style against a Wales side who have conceded seven times already in their final game.

Lauren James to score at anytime (8/15 with SkyBet)

Leading into the tournament, one of the key areas of concern for the Lionesses was the fitness of Lauren James, who had been dealing with a hamstring injury. She was played out of position against France and it all looked a bit rotten, but her performance against the Dutch was the spark that England needed. Wiegman suggested after that game that there is more to come, and so we are backing her to continue her resurgence with a goal and a good performance against Wales.

England vs. Wales expected lineups, team news

England and Wiegman had been criticised for their use of James in a more central role against France, and her move back to the wing allowed her to thrive with a brace vs. the Dutch, while Ella Toone also excelled in the No. 10 role.

  • England predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Hampton; Bronze, Williamson, Carter, Greenwood; Walsh, Stanway; James, Toone, Hemp; Russo

Wales aren’t quite eliminated, but it would take a massive swing for them to squeeze into the top two. That doesn’t mean that Rhian Wilkinson will rotate, though, with the opportunity to knock England out still a brilliant one.

  • Wales predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Middleton-Patel; E. Morgan, Green, Evans, Woodham; Barton, Rowe, James-Turner, Holland; F. Morgan, Fishlock
