This one is set to see the debut of Anthony Elanga for Newcastle following his big-money move from Nottingham Forest. His fellow Swede, Alexander Isak, should also be involved amid reports of strong interest from Liverpool.

On the other side, Celtic's pre-season is already four games in, with their Scottish Premiership campaign kicking off in just two weeks at home to St. Mirren.

Here's our picks for this.

Draw and Both Teams To Score (10/3, Bet365)

With Celtic weeks ahead of Newcastle in their preparation, it feels unlikely they will lose this one. However, with the quality the Magpies possess both in their probable starting XI and on the bench, they should be able to score once or twice. The draw is a riskier proposition but remember... pre-season is not about results and neither team is likely to be too concerned with shutting up shop to edge a win. With a bumper crowd expected, we're backing this one to go the whole way and that penalties will be needed to decide who lifts the Adidas Trophy.

Anthony Elanga to score at any time (12/5, Bet365)

Winger Elanga earned his £52 million move to St. James' Park off a brilliant second season with Forest, where he grabbed six goals and 11 assists in the Premier League alone. Similar output will be required if he is to fulfil his price tag, so he'll be looking to get off to a good start in Glasgow. We think he'll make an instant impact in this one.

Celtic vs. Newcastle expected lineups, team news

With Celtic's league campaign kicking off in just two weeks, Brendan Rodgers is likely to go full strength against the Premier League side as he looks to build momentum ahead of their title defence.

  • Celtic predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Schmeichel (GK) — Ralston, Murray, Scales, Tierney — McGregor, Hatate, Nygren — Forrest, Idah, Maeda

Eddie Howe's plans are less clear, with this the Magpie's first outing of the summer. Elanga should start, while Jamaal Lascelles could get the nod for the first time in over a year following a serious knee injury.

Isak is likely to come off the bench, as are Sandro Tonali, Bruno GuimaraesDan Burn and Tino Livramento following their delayed return to pre-season after international duty in June.

  • Newcastle predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Pope (GK) — Ashby, Schar, Lascelles, Targett — Hernes, Willock, Joelinton — Elanga, Barnes, Osula.
