Arminia Bielefeld vs. Stuttgart expert betting tips, predictions, preview and odds for DFB-Pokal final image

It's arguably the most-anticipated, and certainly the most unlikely, DFB-Pokal final in years, and one that sees Stuttgart come in as massive surprise favourites.

That is because, despite Die Roten not having won a trophy since their Bundesliga success in 2006/07, their opponents in Berlin are third-tier champions, Arminia Bielefeld, who have stunned Germany with their incredible journey to the final.

Led by Marius Worl, who has scored three goals and provided three assists on the run, Arminia have knocked out four Bundesliga sides en route to the showpiece, notably coming from behind to defeat Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-final. Michel Kniat's side will be eyeing up their greatest scalp yet in what is the club's first-ever Pokal final.

On the other hand, Stuttgart are chasing a fourth German cup in what is their seventh final, and their best day yet under the stewardship of Sebastian Hoeness, who has worked wonders with the famous club since arriving at the MHPArena in 2023.

Stuttgart are heavily tipped to win this one, but The Sporting News has all the best predictions, tips, form and betting odds to provide some value for punters.

Stuttgart to win and both teams to score — 13/8 (Paddy Power)

Hoeness' side are overwhelming favourites to win the final but we don't think they will have it all their own way. Arminia have put nine goals past Bundesliga sides on their way to Berlin, and a 10th feels likely given they have nothing to lose.

Julian Kania was their top scorer with 14 league goals as they earned promotion to Bundesliga 2, but it has been Worl who has been the star of the cup run. Either or both could net in this final.

However, only the top four scored more goals in the top flight this season than Stuttgart, and Ermedin Demirovic, Nick Woltemade and Deniz Undav will all fancy their chances of scoring here.

Goals can be expected, but we think the class of the Bundesliga side will see them come out on top.

Deniz Undav first goalscorer — 4/1 (Betfair)

The German international's second season with Stuttgart, and first since his permanent move from Brighton, has been a struggle at times with injuries and form contributing to a league tally of just nine goals.

However, he scored and assisted in a thrilling 3-2 final-day win away to RB Leipzig, and is also the man for the big occasion, having scored away to Real Madrid, the only goal in the quarter-final win over Augsburg, and in the Super Cup loss at the start of the season to Leverkusen.

Their go-to guy last season as they finished runners-up in the Bundesliga, and ahead of Bayern Munich, we're backing Undav to finish the season as he started it — with a goal in Berlin — but this time to break the deadlock.
