KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Before the Kansas City Symphony Musicans played a stirring rendition of the national anthem at Game 6 of the World Series at Kauffman Stadium, there was a moment of silence for Oscar Taveras, the Cardinals rookie who was killed in a car wreck in the Dominican Republic on Sunday.

It was an excellent gesture, a way to recognize the life that was taken by this horrible tragedy.
