The Philadelphia Phillies have selected pitcher Aaron Nola from LSU with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft.
Nola is seen as the safest bet among pitchers for this year’s draft. He doesn’t have the highest ceiling, but his production the past three years at LSU is beyond reproach, and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could be in the majors by 2015.
