Taylor Fritz vs. Carlos Alcaraz final score, results: Spaniard continues quest for Wimbledon three-peat image

The quest for a three-peat is alive and well.

Two-time defending Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz took care of business on Friday against Taylor Fritz, advancing to his third-straight men's single's final by winning 4-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (6-8).

The 22-year-old Spaniard controlled most of the match, breaking Fritz in the very first game while only getting broken once the entire match. During the match, Alcaraz extended his break-free streak to 42 games before Fritz finally broke through in the second set.

However, Fritz was unable to fully figure out Alcaraz's service game, as Alcaraz rebounded quickly to take the third and fourth set. While Alcaraz broke Fritz twice in the third set, the final came down to a tiebreaker that saw Alcaraz fend off two set-points to win the match.

With the win, Alcaraz will play either Jannik Sinner or Novak Djokovic in what promises to be an exciting final. If Alcaraz wins, he will become the fifth man ever to three-peat at Wimbledon during the Open era, joining Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Djokovic.
