The 2023 World Snooker Championship is the final event of the 2022/23 World Snooker Tour professional season.
The campaign has been a very unpredictable one, with several of the sport's biggest names failing to win a ranking event so far, including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Neil Robertson, Judd Trump and John Higgins - although they have all won invitationals.

Prior to the penultimate event of the season the Tour Championship, Northern Ireland's Mark Allen had so far been the player of the season with three ranking titles to his name, and being top of the one-year money list by a significant amount.
Gary Wilson and Chris Wakelin won their maiden ranking event titles during the 2022/23 campaign.

At the time of writing, the 2023/24 professional season calendar has yet to be released. It is hoped there will be a return to China for the circuit – before the Covid-19 Pandemic, the World Snooker Tour had several big money events held there.
The next date on the snooker scene will be the 2023 Q School in Leicester in June, which is open to any amateur player and provides qualification to the professional tour.
